In the previous blog post, the author had covered the ethical concern requirement from the university. In this post, she will further discuss about Internet research Ethics that related to computer and information ethics. Due to her topic analysis related to Internet research. She has to concern and understand about the ethical issues when examining activities on Facebook group online community.

According to Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy, the definition of Internet research ethics (IRE) :
“IRE is defined as the analysis of ethical issues and application of research ethics principles as they pertain to research conducted on and in the Internet. Internet-based research, broadly defined, is research which utilizes the Internet to collect information through an online tool, such as an online survey; studies about how people use the Internet, e.g., through collecting data and/or examining activities in or on any online environments; and/or, uses of online datasets, databases, or repositories” (Resnik and D, 2011).
The highlighted sentences above are relevant to her study and some of the ethical issues are such as data privacy and confidentiality, integrity of data, intellectual property issues, and professional standards.
