LV.6 Facebook community - Member or Fan Page Before carry out the research on my report paper, I have to identify which Facebook group or page that organised in the scope of Toa. There are differences between member group and fan page. In this blogpost will identify to consider which community to study in the research paper later. Both member and fan pages allow users to posts logos, wall posts, discussion boards, videos, mini feeds, links, and photos. One of the main differences between member and fan pages is the authorise of the content. A member group is the admin of the organiser controlled and the person who oversees the Facebook page is listed on the site. Meanwhile, a fan page does not display who developed or who controls access to the site. Fans do not necessarily control the Facebook page. The corporation developed and maintained the fan page. Fans can post photos and if the corporation controls the page, then it may choose to remove the photos. The only way a visitor would know who controls the site is if the individual self-disclosed their affiliation. Below are the community options : First option , "The TOA senior/junior association (closed group)" and have a total of 3014 members currently (Facebook, n.d). The group is specific to only student who study in Toa to join the community. It narrows down the research to students bond between senior and junior and also to the association itself. The group is up to date and is active. I am one of the member in the group and will carry out the study objectively. I would not be bias because I am less active in the group. Second option, "TOA Confessions Page" (public) with the total of 1910 likes the page in this current state(Facebook, 2013). Since it is a fan page, it is open to all to join the community. The research might become widen because it has not only Toa students but non-Toa students might have a chance in this community too. The relationship will be public with the 'voyeur' organisation itself. A place that strongly full with 'gossip'. This fan page has limited information to analyse. Last option will be the "Lecturer-Student Class" (closed group) in the total of 24 members (Facebook, n.d). This group focuses among the classmates and lecturers. It is narrowly specified to the relationship between students to class. It could be a little bias where I am one of the active member in the group. In conclusion, "The TOA senior/junior association (closed group)" is the chosen group to identify in my research report. References Labels: LV6 Comment here / 0 brave souls spoke out/ +FOLLOW2:02 PM
